I
qualified in medicine in 1980 from King's College Hospital Medical School.
At first, I practised as a surgeon, including five years as a
neurosurgeon. Then, after two years in Accident and Emergency medicine, I
changed to general practice. I have also worked in paediatrics and
obstetric and gynaecology. I finished training as a specialist general
practitioner six years ago. I have two postgraduate memberships (Royal
Colleges of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and General Practice) and I have almost
completed a psychology degree with the Open University.
I now work in general practice because I like people and find
hospital medicine can be too remote. |
