On-line Consultations Special Offer |
|
med4u offers the opportunity to have a private consultation, in your own time and at your own pace. The consultation will not finish until you are satisfied that you know more about your problem, and either have the answers you need or know where to go next. This may be another visit to your NHS GP, further tests, a private appointment with a specialist or a formal second opinion. med4u wants to sort out your medical problems, to provide the best solution at reasonable cost. There is an enormous potential for improving your health through on-line consultation. We cannot and will not provide prescriptions over the internet, but we can advise you which drugs might be suitable for you, what there side effects are and what the alternatives are. There is no magic in medicine, only skill, knowledge and experience. The doctor looks for the cause of your symptoms from the information you provide. A physical examination narrows down the likely causes, while tests, X-rays and scans confirm the diagnosis. Not all symptoms can be understood within orthodox medicine. It is however important to exclude serious treatable conditions. On-line Consultations do not replace face-to-face consultations. med4u doctors can tell you what might be causing your symptoms, whether they are likely to be serious and what you can do next. On-line Consultations are about finding choices and alternatives. |
Doctors
think about problems and symptoms in a particular way. This form guides you
through that process. Once you have submitted the form, the med4u doctor will
review your symptoms. S/he may need to ask further questions. The doctor will
then suggest possible causes for your problem (giving their reasons) and
suggest how you might proceed. It is
often difficult to get a second opinion in the NHS, or even in private
practice. People are often worried about offending their own doctors. This
form asks you to give an account of your illness. Again, the med4u doctor may
need to ask you further questions. It may even be necessary to ask for copies
of your notes.. The doctor will then consider whether your diagnosis is likely
to be correct, whether your treatment is reasonable and what you might do to
improve your outlook. Sometimes, for example, a specialist opinion can be
useful even if you do not stay under his care. Our
Health Check (£5) poses
the questions asked in good medicals. The purpose of each question is clearly explained.
